This was a very end-to-end project for me, as I was responsible for client liaison, IA/UX, developing the design, site build and of course Drupal frontend theming.
In consultation with the team at Severn Edge Vets in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, I created the wireframes and IA for their rebranded site rebuild. A 3rd party designer supplied an initial set of designs based on my wireframes and then I took over to develop these designs to meet the clients expectations,to address accessibility issues and to meet responsive design requirements.
Once designs were signed off, I built and themed the site in Drupal 7 with the addition of some location and mapping work from one of our backend developers.
The theme was developed from the fully custom, responsive, boilerplate starter theme (SirussSASS7) that I created for myself and other developers at Siruss to use when developing in Drupal 7. The theme takes the column class grid approach of frameworks like Bootstrap and Omega, but streamlined to only the most useful tools for Drupal theme development, with the addition of many useful SASS variables, mixins and tools to get up and running fast with Drupal and our most often used contrib modules like Views, FlexSlider etc.
